Spotting Jaguars

When Corporal Gabriel Picon of the Colombian Navy spotted this jaguar swimming in the Atrato River, he made an important decision: he shot it with a camera instead of a gun. Soldiers like Corporal Picon, who patrol in remote and difficult-to-access areas, are key partners for conservationists, and they are able to see and document these often elusive creatures on their daily patrols.
