Our Privacy Pledge

Panthera is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. If we collect any private information that personally identifies you (“personal information”) we will not share this with any third party, unless (1) we have your consent; (2) to our employees, contractors or consultants who are bound by an obligation of confidentiality; (3) to our subsidiaries and affiliated companies for the purposes of processing personal information on our behalf; we require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures; (4) to our nonprofit organization partners, solely with respect to the email address provided to us by you for the purpose of subscribing to our mailing list; (5) in order to protect and defend the rights or property of Panthera, or those of users of the Services; (6) in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order; (7) to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law; (8) when sharing the information is a necessary operation of the Services (i.e. to process credit card information); (9) as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy; (10) in connection with a merger with, or a sale of all or substantially all of our assets to, a third party; or (11) as otherwise required by law.

We will only collect personally identifiable information when such information is submitted to us, by, for example, filling out a mailing list form, survey or registration form. We use third party service providers to collect donations. These third party service providers will collect and use information in accordance with their terms of use and privacy policies. Information Collected

In addition to the personal information that you provide directly to Panthera (or through Panthera’s third party service providers) through the site, by signing up for mailing lists, providing donations or otherwise, Panthera may also collect the following information from you:

  • Logfiles and other website tracking information. As part of your use of the Services, Panthera collects non-personally identifiable information about you through your IP address, computer settings or most-recently visited URL.
  • Cookies. When you visit any of our web sites or use certain parts of the Services, we send one or more cookies to your computer or other device that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to personalize content that we deliver to you, and to prevent you from reentering all your registration data at each connection. We may use this information for trend analysis, pattern detection, and web site administration.
  • Google Analytics.  We use Google Analytics to collect information about use of our Services. Google Analytics is described by Google as “a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so they can improve it. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors.” Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your use of our Services is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy respectively.

Use of Information

Panthera respects your privacy and has instituted policies intended to ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. In addition to the uses described above, such purposes may include:

By submitting an email address and/or other contact information when you sign up for any of our mailing lists, you consent (or warrant that the owner of such email address and other contact information has expressly consented) to being placed on our mailing lists and thereby receiving e-mail and other correspondence from Panthera, including newsletters, event advertisements, and website updates. You may remove your e-mail address from the applicable mailing list at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any e-mail from Panthera.
